ArkFile ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the ArkFile website, account system, download service, support channels, and applications.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Account information: Email address, password hash, account status, email verification state, and desktop purchase entitlement state.
• Payment information: Payment processor records needed to confirm purchases. Card details are handled by Stripe or Apple and are not stored by ArkFile.
• App Store purchase data: StoreKit transaction identifiers and related validation data when you buy or restore ArkFile Essentials in the iOS app. ArkFile uses this to mint short-lived iOS content access tokens and does not require an ArkFile account for iOS Essentials.
• Download and service logs: Download requests, timestamps, IP address, user agent, entitlement checks, and security/rate-limit events.
• Support information: Messages, diagnostics, screenshots, or logs you choose to send for support.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To process purchases, validate desktop entitlements or iOS StoreKit access, and provide download access
• To send important updates about your purchase or the software
• To respond to support requests
• To protect the service from abuse, fraud, credential sharing, and unauthorized downloads

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are hashed before storage
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe or Apple
• Secrets, signing keys, and backend credentials are managed outside public source repositories

The ArkFile Application

The ArkFile applications are designed to keep installed content usable offline. Reading activity, bookmarks, and local library browsing are not sent to ArkFile by default. Network access is used for actions you initiate, such as desktop account sign-in, purchase/restore, update checks, support, and content downloads. ArkFile iOS Essentials can be purchased and restored without an ArkFile account.

Your Rights
